The rarest card ever in vintage basketball - C.A. Briggs
The rarest card ever in vintage basketball - C.A. Briggs
On January 20, 2016, the 1933 C.A. Briggs card was added to the VintageBasketball.com collection. I am excited to share info about this card with all of you. While there are many rare items in our hobby, speaking specifically about cards, this is probably at the very top of the list in terms of rarity. Take a few minutes to read a little more about this fantastic card.
Vintage Card Sets Being Added
Accuracy and Rarity
The webpage development has been continuing. I've been adding a few cards to the site, and as you can imagine, it is a slow process to do it right. At some point, I will provide a way for collectors to contact me to add information about different sets and cards. For now, I just wanted to give you an idea of the different types of items you can find in the hobby of vintage basketball collecting. Nothing bothers me more than misinformation. As I have researched different items, I have run across a lot of wrong information in our hobby - in auctions, company write-ups, forums, and in some cases in how cards are being rated. Hopefully by putting our heads together, we can eventually put good information our there for everyone to use. You can bet that errors on my site will be corrected (or debated) in the near future. On a different topic, what I hope to show collectors are some of the rarest cards out there. While demand causes prices to rise, some of the things we collect in our hobby aren't well known enough to gain much interest from the average collector. However, there is a special excitement when the search results in the discovery of something really rare. Very soon I will show you my latest acquisition - hopefully in 2-3 weeks! However, for now let me introduce you to some of the rarest cards on the planet that you have never seen. For your viewing pleasure, here are the Cuban Cigarros Aguilitas cards from 1928!
Website Improvements
Large images are now available!
Hi everyone,
I mentioned awhile back that one goal for the website was to be able to provide better images where you can see more detail. Good news, now you can see large images on the website. As an added bonus, I can now post multiple images related to one item, which you will be able to scroll through at your leisure.
As of right now, there aren't too many items were I've provided a second or third image. However, there will be down the road.
I've picked up some really nice items for the collection lately, plus I still have a lot more images to add. Eventually, I'll put an email on here for feedback and item input. I'm just not there yet. I hope you enjoy the site.
