Description:
On December 21, 1891, James Naismith organized the first game of basketball at the International Y.M.C. A. Training School. Twenty-five days later, the very first publication of basketball was printed in the YMCA school paper, The Triangle. The paper went to branches of the Y.M.C.A. across the country. Inside this publication are Naismith's first-ever published 13 original rules of basketball; a fine drawing of that first game drawn by Japanese student G. S. Ishikawa, and a description of the game. This is an extraordinary piece of basketball history and is incredibly difficult to find. I have only seen two examples up for sale to private individuals. This is arguably the second most important item ever in basketball history, behind the original 13 rules of basketball. This particular example was discovered on Ebay on 4/17/2008.
