Description:
The Pryor Press was located in Chicago at 633 Plymouth Court. This poster catalog is filled with beautiful color basketball posters. They advertise that they were "created and painted by one of Chicago's foremost artists". The Athletic Journal also advertised the sale of posters in their late 1920s magazines. Some of the graphics found in those posters are reused in the Pryor Press poster examples. It should be no surprise that the posters on sale in the Athletic Journal also originated in Chicago. In 1927, you could purchase a 14" x 22" Pryor Press poster for the cost of 7 cents. Those prices would be slightly higher today!
