Description:
This Ken-Wel Sporting Goods advertising piece is a great example of 1920s "basket ball" art. The Ken-Wel company was founded in 1919 and stayed in Gloversville, NY until 1927. This dates the piece to between 1919-1927. My feeling is that it falls into the first half of the 1920s. The die-cut piece is 14" inches tall and 11 inches wide. It is a self-standing display piece, but is presently preserved in archival material.
