Fundamentals of Basketball Naismith - 1930

Description:

This book gives content on such things as attributes developed by ball players, training for basketball, rules and their changes, and basketball in corrective, class, school, churches, etc. Also a history of the evolution of the ball is provided. In this booklet , the AXS and AXL Rawlings-Naismith official crossed-lace valve type , intercollegiate type basketballs are pictured. However, determining the actual publication date for the booklet was difficult. The book references 1909. However, the basketballs in the book are much newer than that. The Rawlings Facebook page shows an advertisement for the AXS and AXL Naismith Signature basketballs - the same ones shown in this booklet. Naismith's image in the booklet matches the one in this advertisement. This places the actual date of this booklet confidently around 1930.

Rare Album Postcard Acquired - March 1, 2016

Recently, I came across a surprising find - the 1928 Cuban Aguilitas Album Redemption postcard. When I've seen these in the past, they have always been baseball related. This one is basketball themed and shows the same image as card #397, the HNOS Maristas. The seller of this item said he found it in Cuba three decades ago. It is a nice and une...
